One evening at dusk a wind current carries a lone firefly out over the sea. Glancing down into the water, the insect is mesmerized by the glow. Mistaking bioluminescence for other fireflies, a lone firefly plunges into the sea. Luckily human bystanders lend a hand. The story is based on an event witnessed by nature writer Rachel Carson.
